The 8 milestones in Luxexpo's history:
1340:
Jean l'Aveugle orders the 1st fair in the capital of the Grand Duchy!
1922:
In the Northern section of the capital, the "Official Commercial Fair of Luxembourg" was first held, in tents, with 642 exhibitors.
1948:
Creation of Luxembourg International Fairs (F.I.L) in the same section of town.
1972:
F.I.L. becomes a stock company.
1974:
The company established itself on the Kirchberg plateau.
1976:
After much success, the Luxembourg International Fair was transformed into the Spring Fair and the Autumn Fair.
1991:
The infrastructure was extended with the creation of a conference and convention centre.
2004:
With over thirty events in very different activity sectors, the F.I.L. company changed its name and became Luxexpo, a name that better corresponds to the expansion of its activity and its development projects.
Luxexpo's three areas of action are:
events organized directly by Luxexpo that are designed for the general public and/or professionals
events organized by third-party organizers
conference room and hall rental
The attention given to emerging sectors have led Luxexpo to consider many different formats of collaboration and to bring an innovative character to its activities, all of this, whilst still keeping the interests of the company, of Luxembourg, or of the Grande Région in mind.
With 33.000 m² of covered surface area and an international but particularly wide-ranging calendar, Luxexpo has become the most important center for exhibitions within the Grande Région.
